Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of this instruction, the students will be able :
- to explain the physical basis of the optical properties of dielectric materials, metals and semiconductors
- To apply the equations of Fresnel to the propagation of light in a stratified material
- to analyze the characteristics of an ellipsometric spectrum and of a spectrum of reflectivity
- to understand the influence of the physical properties (roughness, ... ) and of the optical properties of constitutive materials on these spectra

- Optical Properties of materials: classical models (metals, dielectrics, semiconductors) and quantum models
- Dispersion
- UV-visible and infrared Ellipsometry
