Content of Learning Activity
Reminders on Physiology of Nervous system: Neurotransmitters, Neuromodulators, Ion Channels, Blood Brain Barrier, agonist/antagonist, allosteric modulators.
Discovery and development of neurotropic drugs: therapeutic target, in vitro/ in vivo models, distribution, Safety/ Toxicity.
Pharmacological agents for treatment of Epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Depression, Anxiety, Sleep disorders, Schizophrenia, Neuropathic Pain, Migraine. Addictions and their treatments. General Anesthesia. Drugs for treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.
Other pharmacological and non pharmacological approaches for treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Neuropharmacology's limits. Next topics of research in neuropharmacology and challenges for the future.
