Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
AA Industrial and medical instrumentation: understand electrical and optical metrology in industrial applications.
AA Biomedical Sensors: identify the basic principles involved in sensors instrumentation, understand the mechanisms of different sensors and get introduced to the regulation and ethical use concepts.
AA Interconnection of sensor devices: understand the way connected devices are working together, identify the different components of a network (applications, protocoles, architectures, transmission systems) allowing to interconnect smart devices, understand the role and operation of each element and evaluate their advantages and limitations, identify the challenges for engineer in this field.
Content of UE
AA Industrial and medical instrumentation: Introduction; Errors in measurements; Electric signal processing; Optical signal processing; Sensors (electrical and optical including temperature sensors, mechanical sensors, chemical and gas sensors, radiation sensors); Statistics for Experimenters.
AA Biomedical Sensors: Review of basics and physic principles; Medical imaging/radiology; Biosensing; Minimaly-invasive diagnosis; Medical devices: regulatory and ethical considerations.
AA Interconnection of sensor devices: Interconnection of smart devices: general context, Smart Devices, IoT concept, ...; Applicatives systems (including their needs and constraints): Smart Grid, SCADA, AMI, ...; The features of newtorks, systems and comunication protocoles (from filed bus to IP technologies) allowing tho physically and logically interconnect the devices; IoT challenges: sécurity, network managment , reliability, "scalability"...
