Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Students should be able: to understand the importance of the electrical energy vector in the building management, to evaluate the "safety" of people and goods; to evaluate the use of renewable energies in buildings; to evalute the use of domotic systems,to contemplate the economic management of electrical energy and modern solutions for electrical power supply; to understand the most common electrical energy applications as well as their implementation under the Belgian RGIE regulations. Introduction à la domotique.
Content of UE
Theory-exercices mode course, in face-to-face mode, preferably. In the case of eventual sanitary problems, the course will be switched to distance mode. Students must be present during the first lecture : Contents: Electrical circuits devices, stationary currents and DC circuits solving methods, notions on magnetism; variable and sinusoidal currents; main electrical machines used in buildings; RGIE regulations and electrical installations analysis; protection of human beings and buildings facilities against electrical hazards; electrical installation on buildings: design, implementation and validation. Introduction to domotics: the KNX system; renewable energies in buildings.
Prior Experience
Physics (Architects)
Type of Assessment for UE in Q2
Q2 UE Assessment Comments
Quoted exercises exam (open books, before session, 3 hours). Weight: 50% -Written exam on the theory ( closed books, during session, 2 hours). Weight: 50%. NOTE : 1) Students that have not aproved the exercices exam before session will have another oportunity during session, after the exam on the theory. In both cases, students must present the written exam on the theory during session. 2) In order to prevent any kind of speculation, all points will be revealed after the proofread of the exam on the theory. 3) Students that have not approved the exercices exam before session will be informed before the session exam date in order to present again the exercices exam. This is mandatory.
