Content of Learning Activity
The interest in recycling: dependence on materials, the notion of "waste" and regulation.
Waste treatment, waste reduction, re-use, recycling, regeneration (with energy recovery or incineration), and landfilling. Physical, physicochemical, and thermal waste treatment processes.
Waste management (recycling of metals (steel, aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, precious metals), glass and ceramic recycling, polymer recycling, composite recycling, applications.
Writing of a report based on a scientific article in English (scientific critical analysis and critique of the article content).
Plant visit.
The course addresses climate and environmental issues and focuses on societal, environmental, and climate transitions.
