Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Understand the links between the "Theory of architecture", sustainable societies and democracies. Awaken to the complexity of factors that lead to architectural creativity in today's sustainable development society. Have a first cultural base required to understand these concepts. Enter into the space governance mechanisms. Be able to identify theoretical trends which have led to the production of architecture both in Hainaut province and internationally. Use tools of observation, analysis and understanding of architecture to see it in its spatiality and temporality. In short, out of a rough and blurred vision, students should possess specific architectural analytical skills and begin to develop their abilities to summarise this information.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
The originality of the course aims to bind the theory of architecture with sustainable development in the sense of the UN:
Including its goal #1 of sustainable development aiming at the eradication of poverty (to often neglected), but also the fight against climate change, clean energy, reduction of iniqualities, gender equality... all for health and well-being.

| A-CARC-101 | Assessment consists of a written exam on Wooflash and/or Moodle (further details will be provided in class and/or on Moodle). The assessment is based on the material covered in the course: MCQs (multiple-choice questions), concepts to be explained and/or themes to be developed. The aim is to assess your capacity for architectural analysis (and synthesis). Your participation in the forum (remote written production (during or after the course but before the last course) with who says what (and chatgpt source if used!)) and reading of text could be graded. Wooclap “side” exercises (continuous assessment) are not compulsory, but may be awarded a bonus or super bonus (allowing partial or total exemption from the exam). |
