Learning Outcomes of UE

- Identifying running attacks
- Performing risk analysis to limit potential damages
- Applying intrusion detection systems (IDS) methods
- Applying intrusion prevention systems (IPS) methods
- Securing web and mobile applications
- Streghten a device/system/computer network (or a critical part) in case of attack
- Applying defensive or offensive countermeasures
- Analyzing forensics of an attack
- Getting back a maximally functional infrastructure
- Acting as a ethical and responsible professional

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The exact content of the course will be refined after its first year, but the following topics will be addressed.
- Pentesting and vulnerability assessment
- Honeypots
- Static malware analysis
- Dynamic malware analysis
- Signature-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems
- Anomaly-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems
- Robust and secure data collection for forensics
- Disaster recovery and dynamic countermeasures

Prior Experience

The S-INFO-044 AA (or equivalent) must have been previously passed.
