Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
The goal of this course is to provide a basic understanding of general ecology: living conditions on earth, climate constraints, energy balances, biome structure, biogeochemical cycles and their disruptions, basic soil science, autoecology, population ecology, community and ecosystem ecology. Notions of sustainable development and global change will be covered in the course.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Starting with the abiotic conditions that structure our planet and condition life on Earth, students will be progressively led to understand how organisms interact with their environment, how they structure themselves into dynamic populations in space and time, and how they form communities evolving in complex ecosystems.
Practicals are mandatory. At least one field trip out of the university will be arranged.
