    • Apply, mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired in order to help lead and complete a project.
  • Manage and lead research, development and innovation projects.
    • Understand unprecedented problems in biological sciences, and more specifically in the biology of organisms, ecology and its applications.
  • Master communication techniques.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
  • Apply scientific methodology.
    • Demonstrate thoroughness, independence, creativity, intellectual honesty, and ethical values.

Be able to carry out all these tasks independently, under the supervision of a Master thesis supervisor.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The student must carry out a research project over several months in one of the host laboratory's research topics. This work will include a prior bibliographical research and a series of laboratory or field experiments. The student will be supervised by a senior member of the host laboratory. At the end of this work, he/she will have to write a fifty-page manuscript including an introduction presenting the subject, a description of the methods used, a presentation of the results obtained, and a discussion placing the results in the context of current scientific knowledge. The work as a whole will be the subject of an oral presentation and defence in front of a jury.
