Understand how classical applications work (web, mail, DNS, ...) ;
Specify, simulate, implement and use network protocols ;
Understand the network stack model and the services offered at each layer.

Understand how computer networks are organized in the Internet.

Understand, model and analyse a transport protocol.
Understand, model and analyse a routing protocol.
Understand the architecture of a networking equipment (host, router, switch).

Understand, apply and interpret computer network performance metrics.

Prior Experience

Knowledge of a high-level programming language (Java, C, Python) and the object-oriented paradigm. Projects to complete during the laboratories assume this knowledge !!!

Knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems.
