Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the first module of the master in translation, students will be able to:
- analyse different communication styles and registers of foreign language in order to compare them with the verbal, paraverbal and nonverbal standards of their native culture;
- identify the cultural variables in written and oral argumentation strategies;
- implement communication and argumentation strategies in a context of interlinguistic communication.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Contrastive analysis of written and oral accounts and interactions emphasizing cultural variables. Written and oral communication activities such as reformulation or adaptation to another target audience, explanation and synthesis, informal interpreting. In addition to Danish texts, the students may be asked to work with documents in Swedish and Norwegian.
