Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
By the end of the course, students will be able to (1) master the techniques and basic tools of dictated translation ; (2) critically assess the use of voice recognition tools in translation and their own utilization of these tools.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
This course introduces students to the use of voice recognition tools in written translation. The course is structured around two main components: hands-on exercises translating written texts using voice recognition, and discussions analyzing relevant readings that explore the potentials and constraints of dictated translation. Building on this, students are encouraged to take a critical approach towards the use of voice recognition tools in translation.
Prior Experience
This course is open to all students who have a minimum proficiency in English at level B2 of the CEFR for receptive skills, and French at level C2 of the CEFR for productive skills, regardless of their language combination. No other prerequisite skills are required.
