Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the first block of the master in translation or interpreting, students' proficiency in English will reach C1 level as defined by the European Framework of Languages or higher.
They will be able to:
- understand a wide range of demanding longer texts and their implied meanings;
- speak fluently and spontaneously without much obvious groping for words;
- speak about complex subjects in a clear and well-structured manner and demonstrate mastery of the organizational, connecting and cohesive patterns of discourse.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Analysis of and commentary on textual and audiovisual documents selected for their relevance to the socio-cultural context of the studied language. Activities targeting linguistic and cultural knowledge, but also discursive, functional and heuristic skills.
Prior Experience
Strong mastery of English language, both passive and active skills, at the C1 level of the CEFR, or higher.

Results obtained during the term may, if the student achieves a sufficiently high average, permit the student to opt out of the examination set during the June session. Practical written translation examination during the June session. All term assignments, including attendance, are compulsory. The final result will be prorated on the basis of any missing assignments or excessive absences to reflect the student's real investment in the course. |
