Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Master specialist knowledge in the field of economic, political and social sciences in order to mobilise it on issues related to political, economic and social environments.
    • Master and appropriately mobilise highly specialised knowledge and methodological approaches within of economic, political and social sciences.
    • Master decision-making processes of public bodies and services.
    • Assimilate political, economic and social environments.
  • Analyse concrete political, social and economic issues in a multidisciplinary way, identifying future societal changes.
    • Mobilise highly specialised knowledge methods and tools in different fields of economic, political and social sciences.
  • Be critical and have a general overview of the analysis of problems and implementation of actions in the economic, social and political fields.
    • Critically analyse the extent and limitations of actions implemented in the economic, social and political field.
    • Assess their practices and be able to question it.
  • Communicate, orally and in writing, in a structured and relevant way.
    • Communicate and interact in a clear and structured manner, orally and in writing in French and English, on issues, analyses and projects.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Explain, through mathematical formulations when appropriate, the objectives and instruments of economic policy; long run growth theory and policies, as well as the p-theories and policies that foster full employment and price stability. Explain the consequences of international trade on the variables of economic policy. Know how to carry out an economic cost-benefit analysis and understand the challenges involved. Understand and mobilize the concept of externality and potential solutions to this problem. Mobilize all this knowledge in the context of the challenges raised by climate change.

Long-term growth theories and policies. 
Inequality and poverty (definitions, measurement and action).
The IS-LM model (and aggregate demand) + aggregate supply models. 
Aggregate supply and demand. 
The influence of international trade on these models. 
Cost-benefit analysis.
Externalities and public goods.
Introduction to environmental economics
