Content of Learning Activity
Through theoretical lectures, critical readings of articles and critical analysis of a portion of a city, students will explore the following notions:
Different approaches to the sociology of housing: housing type and social group, owner/tenant, residential trajectories, family life cycles, age and gender;
Lifestyles and occupancy patterns: housing or living, living here or elsewhere, aspirations and opportunities;
The reconfiguration of places of belonging: home, neighborhood, city, world, space of places and space of flows;
The threshold effect: between domestic and shared space;
Poor housing;
Isotropy, deterritorialization, reterritorialization;
Climate issues and the evolution of living: modularity, flexibility, compactness, nomadism, sharing, alternative housing.
They will be introduced to scientific research in the human sciences, techniques and representations of knowledge of use, places of belonging and modes of occupation.
