      Content of Learning Activity

      Through theoretical lectures, critical readings of articles and critical analysis of a portion of a city, students will explore the following notions:

      Different approaches to the sociology of housing: housing type and social group, owner/tenant, residential trajectories, family life cycles, age and gender;
      Lifestyles and occupancy patterns: housing or living, living here or elsewhere, aspirations and opportunities;
      The reconfiguration of places of belonging: home, neighborhood, city, world, space of places and space of flows;
      The threshold effect: between domestic and shared space;
      Poor housing;
      Isotropy, deterritorialization, reterritorialization;
      Climate issues and the evolution of living: modularity, flexibility, compactness, nomadism, sharing, alternative housing.

      They will be introduced to scientific research in the human sciences, techniques and representations of knowledge of use, places of belonging and modes of occupation.
