Content of Learning Activity
The student will undertake a project based on the analysis of the social, economic, environmental and cultural aspects of sustainability, in relation to the concept.
What is sustainable development
- The economic aspects of architecture (productive capacities, innovation and research)
- The environmental impact of architecture (climate change, environmental resources)
- The social role of architecture (social inclusion and exclusion, health)
- How to harmonize these three pillars, for equity (inequality/solidarity), viability (mode of production and use), liveability (health and environment) and sustainability of the planet?
- Impacts of the various parameters available to the architect on these notions of sustainability: location, implantation, orientation, organisation and arrangement of functions, structural typology, composition of facades, choice of materials, methods of implementation and technologies, etc. Impacts on the contexts (territory, landscape, mobility, public spaces, existing buildings, heritage, sunshine, etc.). - Cradle to cradle (environmental balance, carbon balance, grey energy, ecological footprint).
