Content of Learning Activity
The course addresses the concepts and definitions of urban planning by integrating its history and following its modes of development.
This course:
•Explores the theoretical bases of urban planning and its evolution through the history of its territories.
•Analyzes the different models, urban planning tools in the cultural and urban contexts that developed them and the key words of the discipline of urban planning through a glossary ("dictionnary") (language of urban planners).
•Allows to acquire theoretical skills in urban planning and build a culture of urbanization and city-making.

- Part I: Urban planning, Urbanization and their fundamental principles (definitions, typologies of urban planning, objectives, strategic and regulatory tools of urban planning, urbanization and evolution, challenges and key aspects). - - Part II: Key concepts of urban planning from A to Z (urban planners' glossary)
- Part III: Composition of urban space from antiquity to today (analysis of the three ages of urban planning)
- Part IV: Urban planning of tomorrow and case studies
A summary of all the material is planned at the end of the sessions.
