Content of Learning Activity
The course will first cover the types of documents in which to find scientific information (books, articles, monographs, etc.) and how to present these sources in a bibliography (accompanied by a presentation of software such as Zotero, Mendeley, etc.). The course will then cover the basics of advanced documentary research, with a presentation of databases (analytical vs. summary, PICO approach, Web of Science, Google Scholar, PubMed, etc.) as well as criteria for assessing the reliability and relevance of sources (critical reading, quick sorting). Numerous AI-type tools are appearing to support students/researchers in their documentary research. The strengths/weaknesses of these tools and their relevance will also be discussed. A final chapter will cover the basics of scientific communication (oral or written) and the importance of integrity in scientific production.
