Content of Learning Activity
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL): to further develop students' competences in using English in an academic setting, discipline-related activities will be introduced, designed jointly by the langage teacher and a faculty teacher (teaching assistant, research assistant), who will present an aspect of research in their specialism. Materials chosen by both experts will be used and lead to a number of activities in class:
reading at least 2 scientific papers,
preparing a poster presentation in small groups, which will form the assessment.
the course is very much a "workshop", combining group work with linguistic and methodological support by the teacher. Work groups should be formed as early as possible, and attendance is essential to ensure regular progress and the engagement of each student in the work group.
