Discover and practice techniques and postures for listening to city users.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Through three distinct pedagogical moments - (1) collective analysis of multidisciplinary scientific writings, (2) meeting with professionals and inhabitants of an urban or peri-urban neighborhood, (3) carrying out a commented ethnographic analysis - students will explore the following anthropological notions:

Anthropological places, non-places, place-effects, vile-bis (Agier 2009, 2015, Augé 1992, Bourdieu 1993, Paquot 2021)
Class, race and gender domination in public space and the city (Rosa Bonheur 2019, Ernaux 1997, Luxembourg, Noüs 2021)
Intersectionality (Kern 2022)
Socio-spatial relegation: borders, stigmas (Romariz Peixoto 2023)
Psycho-socio-spatial grip and disengagement (Jamoulle 2008, 2019)
Ethnographic approaches and tools: techniques, field posture, data collection and interpretation (Kroll 2013, Salembier 2020)
