Learning Outcomes of UE

Following this course, students will have a general knowledge of the molecular mechanisms involved in the different stages of gamete formation in mammals, as well as in their encounter and interaction during fertilisation.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The course will cover the following topics:
-Germline development
-Ovogenesis
-Spermatogenesis
-Sperm maturation in the male and female tract
-Regulation of sperm motility
-Fertilisation: migration in the female tract, interactions between sperm and oocyte
