Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Academic, social and cultural skills.
    • Analyse the organisational and institutional environment of the education system and act within it, by interacting with colleagues, parents, management and other parties in order to (I) Be part of the school's management process and participate in the process of improvement of the French Community's education system; (II) Make school a place where pupils learn, develop and train in a positive climate, and not a place of selection.
  • Learning organisation skills applicable within a collective dynamic.
    • Get involved in collaborations with teaching teams in order to increase professionalism and expertise by using collective intelligence, particularly during consultations.
    • Identify individual training needs and participate in identifying the training needs of the teaching team.
  • Skills for organising and supporting learning in an evolving dynamic.
    • Understand the subject content, its epistemological foundations, its scientific and technological development, its didactics and teaching methodology.
    • Understand the learning process and research the various models and theories of teaching.

Learning Outcomes of UE

The student will acquire the knowledge in a sufficient manner to allow him/her integrating the industry of polymeric materials but also acquire important notions in chemical risk management (in university and industrial laboratories).

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This course analyses the time evolution of thermoplastic, elastomer and thermoset industrial materials since their discorery beginning of 20th century till nowadays. The key milestones crossed over and the related scientific principles will be presented and discussed. A special attention will be drawn on multiphase polymeric materials and polymeric composites. The main objective of this course relies upon the study of main polymeric materials industrially produced and encountered all around us. It will focus on the principal methods of production, the physico-chemical and thermo-mechanical properties of polymeric materials as well as their applications.  A second aspect of this course will cover the chemical risk management.
