Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the course students will be able to understand the principle conceptions of science and understand the limits of these philosophies. Students will also be able to consider these epistemological ideas alongside those of scientific method. The student will also have to be able to present a moment in the history of science, to non-specialists, using everyday language.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
The main epistemologies will be studied: inductivism, Popper, Kuhn, Lakatos, Feyerabend. A critique will be made of these epistemologies and they will be compared to each other in terms of their conception of science, progress and criteria of scientificity.
