Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
The outcomes of this learning activity are :
- The mastery of the main tools of materials thermodynamics
- The knowledge of the main classes of metallic alloys and their main properties.
- The understanding of solidification phenomena and processes and of the formation of microstructures in metallic alloys and their link with the main properties of alloys.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Part 1 - Materials thermodynamics: Phase diagrams (binary and ternary) ; Ellingham diargams; Potential-pH diagrams; Stability diagrams. Ionic solutions; chemical activity.
Part 2 - Solidification phenomena and microstructure formation, continuous casting;
Part 3: Knowledge of metallica alloys: Main ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
