Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Electrical Machines Part: Establish analytical model of the studied electrical machines taking into account eddy current, magnetic and mechanical power losses. Understand and exploit the main electrical and mechanical characteristics of the machines. Master and perform the various standardized tests of measurement of the key characteristics and parameters. Predetermine important quantities such as supplied or absorbed power, electromagnetic and mechanical torques, speed and efficiency of the machine
Electric Power Networks part: Understand the operation of high voltage electric power networks and its components (generators, transformers, air lines and undergournd cables) in steady-state. Calculate a one-line diagram in the per-unit system. Write basic equations of a load flow analysis. Understand voltage and frequency regulation.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Electrical Machines part: fundamentals of synchronous machines; single-phase and three phase circuits; transformers: under no load and load conditions, as well as in short circuit; asynchronous/induction machines in steady-state: balance of power, electromagnetic torque, circle diagram, speed-torque characteristic, slip, efficiency, influence of rotor resistance, frequency and stator voltage. Fundamentals of DC machines.
Electrical Power networks part: production - transport - distribution ; the basic principles of synchronous generators, transformers, transmission lines ; load-flow analysis ; active-reactive decoupling ; reactive compensation ; power flow control ; automatic generation control.
