Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Imagine, design, build and operate machines, equipment and processes to provide a solution to a complex problem of energy production, conversion and transmission by integrating the needs, constraints, context and technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental issues.
    • Identify the complex problem to be solved and develop the specifications by integrating the needs, constraints, context and technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental issues.
  • Plan, manage and carry out projects according to their objectives, resources and constraints, ensuring the quality of activities and deliverables.
    • Define and frame the project in terms of its objectives, resources and constraints.
  • Work effectively in a team, develop leadership, make decisions in multidisciplinary, multicultural and international contexts.
    • Interact effectively with other actors to carry out joint projects in various contexts (multidisciplinary, multicultural and international).
    • Identify skills and resources, and seek external expertise if necessary.
    • Make decisions, individually or collectively, taking into consideration the parameters (human, technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental) involved.
  • Communicate and exchange information in a structured manner - orally, graphically and in writing, in French and in one or more other languages - at the scientific, cultural, technical and interpersonal levels, adapting to the goal pursued and the audience concerned.
    • Argue and convince, both orally and in writing, in front of a client, a colleague, teachers and juries.

    • Demonstrate openness and critical thinking by comparing the technical and non-technical aspects of the problems analyzed and the solutions proposed.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Industrial Law : Master the principles of competition law, industrial and intellectual property law, and judicial expertise; Understand the limits and consequences of contractual relationships; Identify protectable creations or innovative ideas; Be aware of the scope and limitations of legal protections; Verify the validity and boundaries of intellectual or industrial property rights; Assess the difference between the existence of a right and the proof of that right; Apply abstract principles to concrete situations with a critical mindset.

Social Legislation: Be a professional in the labor market, knowing your rights and obligations as an employee or employer, as well as your rights and duties as a social insurance beneficiary; Analyze situations, understand them, and abstract them through theoretical knowledge of the subject; Identify courses of action that can lead to solutions for problems arising from the application of the subject matter.

Industrial Law: Basic legal concepts; Hierarchy of legal norms; Legal acts; Freedom of trade; Intellectual property rights and industrial property rights; Unfair competition
Labor Law: Formation of the employment contract; Execution of the contract; Suspension of the contract; Termination of the contract; Social security, limited to three schemes; Health and disability insurance; Unemployment insurance; Workplace accident insurance

Type(s) and mode(s) of Q2 UE assessment

  • Written examination - Face-to-face

Q2 UE Assessment Comments

Two-hour written exam for each AA, held during the same half-day, in an order that will be communicated by the professors. Traditional exam format without course notes or materials, including both theoretical questions and practical/situational questions.

Method of calculating the overall mark for the Q2 UE assessment

Passing the exam is only achieved if a score of 10/20 is simultaneously obtained in each AA. Failure in one AA requires retaking the entire exam, unless the instructor responsible for the failed AA decides otherwise.
