Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Mobilize a structured body of specialized scientific and technical knowledge and skills, enabling you to respond with expertise and adaptability to the missions of the civil engineer in IT and Management with a focus on Cybersecurity and Forensics for the Internet of Everything.
    • Master and mobilize knowledge, models, methods and techniques related to cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT) and ubiquitous computing (IoE), depending on the problem to be solved.
  • Imagine, design, develop and implement conceptual models and IT solutions to respond to complex decision-making, optimization, management and production problems, as part of a corporate innovation process that takes into account changing needs, contexts and issues (technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
    • Identify complex problems to be solved and develop the specifications with the client by integrating needs, contexts and issues (technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
    • Deliver a solution selected in the form of diagrams, graphs, prototypes, software and/or digital models.
  • Plan, manage and lead projects in view of their objectives, resources and constraints, ensuring the quality of activities and deliverables.
    • Define and align the project in view of its objectives, resources and constraints.
    • Exploit project management principles and tools, particularly the work plan, schedule, document monitoring, versioning and software development methodologies.
  • Work effectively in teams, develop leadership, and make decisions in multidisciplinary, multicultural and international contexts.
    • Interact effectively with others to carry out common projects in various contexts (multidisciplinary, multicultural, and international).
    • Make decisions, individually or collectively, taking into account the parameters involved (human, technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
  • Communicate and exchange information in a structured way - orally, graphically and in writing, in French and in one or more other languages - scientifically, culturally, technically and interpersonally, by adapting to the intended purpose and the relevant public.
    • Argue to and persuade customers, teachers and boards, both orally and in writing.
    • Use and produce scientific and technical documents (reports, plans, specifications) adapted to the intended purpose and the relevant public.
  • Adopt a professional and responsible approach, showing an open and critical mind in an independent professional development process.
    • Analyse their personal functioning and adapt their professional attitudes.
  • Contribute by researching the innovative solution of a problem in engineering sciences.
    • Develop and implement conceptual analysis, numerical modelling, software implementations, experimental studies and behavioural analysis.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Integrated software development project dedicated to Internet of Things, connected objects and their use, with the following goals:
- Develop an application dedicated for managing data generated from connected objects by processing the entire pipeline from data collection to storage.
- Using sensors and connected objects within the software development project.
- Using wireless communication protocols dedicated to connected objects in the field of Internet of things.
- Studying the security of connected objects.
- The project could be dedicated a specific use case related to connected objects in the field of IoT.
- Study of the optimization of computer programs and data storage in order to reduce the digital environmental impact.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Getting started with using sensors and their connectivity with embedded devices such as Arduino, Lopy, Raspberry Pi, etc.
- Studying and using wireless communication protocols (and possibly wired) used for sensors information transmission.
- Build a dashboard allowing to monitor and analyze data from different connected objects. This dashboard should be cross-platform (Web/Desktop/Mobile).
- Implement an actuation policy used to control the status of certain connected objects according to the data received from sensors (for example: electrical appliances, electric doors or windows, heaters, etc.)
- Identify a backup strategy with different kind of databases.
- Study and possibly implement the security of connected objects and their related data.
- Green Computing for the reduction of environmental impact.
