    • Be open to research and demonstrate scientific curiosity
  • Show a good knowledge of scientific English
    • Understand and summarise a scientific article in English

Learning Outcomes of UE

Students will be able to define the criteria for their choice of direction for the Master's thesis.
In addition, they will develop practical skills learned during the bachelor's degree.
The course will include practical laboratory, the 3rd part of the "carnet de suivi" (parts 1 and 2 at the beginning and middle of the bachelor's degree) and an overall assessment of the theoretical and practical skills of the CDS 1, 2 and 3 (mammoth evaluation).
The student will be able to manage resources, apply mathematics, use a vocabulary that accurately links concepts, manage the necessary laboratory prerequisites, be able to integrate concepts from different approaches/disciplines into a complex biomedical problem, interpret and critique a scientific article (in French and English) and write a report.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This UE enables students to familiarise themselves with the various techniques and areas of research and to choose a department in which to write their master thesis. The CDS III enables students to continue their self-learning of basic biomedical analysis techniques and methods. The mammoth corresponds to the assessment of the skills acquired through the CDS since BA1 and through the work placement in the various departments, including :

- Necessary mathematical knowledge
- mastery of a precise vocabulary
- Laboratory prerequisites (preparation of solutions, pH, graphs, laboratory materials/equipment, safety, etc.)
- Use of IT tools (Word, Excel, report reaction, etc.)
- Summarising and presenting a scientific article (French and English/poster or ppt)
- Basic knowledge of cell physo-pathology (and cell culture)
- Statistical notions
