UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Pharmacists are increasingly faced with requests for alternative therapies. Alongside alternative "pharmacological" therapies, which were discussed previously (BA3 and MA1 phytotherapy courses), requests for so-called "non-pharmacological" alternative therapies may also arise at the pharmacy. The pharmacist must be able to respond to these requests and inform the patient about situations in which these therapies can complement conventional treatments or provide an alternative therapeutic approach. The course will consist of the presentation of different alternative and complementary medicines via interventions by professionals from different disciplines (acupuncture, reflexology, homeopathy, osteopathy, etc.) and discussions on the role of the pharmacist to advise the patient on the adequacy and compatibility of these therapies with conventional treatments.
