Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
- Search for the best available evidence to solve a clinical problem (EBM or Evidence-based medicine).
- Evaluate the available information and determine the value to be attributed to data from the scientific literature and other relevant sources of information (critical analysis).
- Understand the concept of therapeutic guidelines and how they should or not be implemented in daily practice.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
The principles of the Evidence-based medicine are presented in two chapters:
- Primary sources (experimental and observational studies)
- Secondary and tertiary sources (systematic reviews and meta-analyses; treatment guidelines and consensus meetings; other sources of information)
For each of the sources described in these chapters, we will discuss the different types of studies that can be used, the methods for expressing the results, the sources of information and the criteria for critical analysis.
