Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the instruction, the students will master the fundamental notions in linguistics (linguistics is considered here as a broad area of science covering traditional internal linguistics, as well as ‘external' linguistics, and more widely speech sciences and language sciences). The students will also be able to solve basic exercises applying those fundamental notions, in phonology, in syntax, in semantics and in pragmatics. Finally, the students will have gathered the theroetical and methodological tools necessary to achieve a critical perspective on speech, languages and language that surmounts a normative and/or purely descriptive approach.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Concepts of the linguistics linked with the practice of the language by the individuals, in particular in the oral modality.
