Learning Outcomes of UE

At the conclusion of the course, students will be familiar with methods for assessing the different components of spoken language and their associated disorders. They will be able to describe language phenomena as observed in speech therapy assessment tasks, using precise and appropriate terminology, and establishing theoretical–practical links that will allow them to formulate diagnostic hypotheses regarding the language difficulties that may underlie these phenomena. Students will be introduced to descriptive, semiological, and cognitive methods of analysis through case studies. They will also be encouraged to engage in critical analysis and reflection on the strengths and limitations of the tools commonly used in the field of speech and language therapy.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The course will be structured around several activities:
- the presentation of theoretical concepts related to oral language disorders in children and adults, as well as their principles of assessment;
- the critical analysis of oral language assessment batteries;
- the resolution of case studies involving children and adults with oral language disorders (quantitative and qualitative analyses, formulation of diagnostic hypotheses).
