Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this course, students will be able to: Understand the methodological foundations and the challenges of conducting research with target populations; Understand the ethical dimensions related to research in clinical orthopedagogy; Independently explore an advanced topic in clinical orthopedagogy by drawing on relevant scientific and professional resources; Implement an assessment and/or support approach in clinical orthopedagogy following a defined protocol; Critically analyze the theoretical foundations, implementation conditions, and ethical issues of the chosen approach; Design didactic materials or transferable tools to support the appropriation of concepts and practices by field professionals; Integrate theoretical insights and field-based experiences to develop well-argued professional recommendations.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This course unit combines two complementary learning activities designed to deepen students’ understanding of research practices and applied approaches in clinical orthopedagogy. The course “Research Models in Clinical Orthopedagogy” provides an in-depth exploration of the methodological, ethical, and epistemological specificities of conducting research with the target populations. It focuses on the necessary adaptations in terms of researcher posture, methodological choices, data collection, and interpretation, within an inclusive and context-sensitive perspective.Building on this foundation, the course “Advanced Topics in Clinical Orthopedagogy” invites students to explore a specialized theme related to assessment or support practices. Through a participatory approach involving field partners, students implement a structured intervention, critically analyze its implications, and produce transferable tools aimed at supporting professionals. This activity fosters the integration of theoretical knowledge and field-based insights within an applied research framework and a practice improvement perspective. The overall course unit aims to develop advanced skills in critical thinking, ethical analysis, the application of research in professional contexts, and the co-construction of actionable knowledge for the field.
