The aim of this A.A. is to enable you to understand, via a cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary approach, the issues at stake in the way society functions today (socio-ecological issues) as well as the underlying challenges of Sustainable Development & Transitions.
The learning outcomes developed in this course are to be able to:
- Identify and define the notions and concepts of SD;
- Examine the numerous issues in the light of SD (climate, biodiversity, etc.);
- Formulate the environmental and socio-economic challenges (precariousness, justice, psychological aspects, resistance to change, access to resources, etc.);
- Understand the political (regional, national, international), legislative and financial aspects of transition.
- Recognise the complexity of SD issues;
- Relate and illustrate the challenges of SD through a transdisciplinary approach enabling students to understand the role of their discipline in relation to these issues.
