Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of this course, students will be able to master identification tools and identify many of Belgium's bioindicator species without support. This integrated hands-on naturalist enhancement course focuses on bioindicator organisms and species under Natura 2000 protection status, through field trips, extensively illustrated course materials, collection specimens and regional identification keys.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Elements of the anatomy, ecology and conservation of each taxonomic group will first be covered in theoretical training, accompanied by identification exercises on specimens in collections or photographed in natura. The skills developed during these sessions will then be perfected through field outings during which rigorous inventories will be carried out, preparing students for the types of activities carried out by biodiversity experts.
Prior Experience
Basic entomological and botanical knowledge: family recognition.
