Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this course, students will be familiar with the various domains of chemical industry. This course is articulated on four modules : ex cathedra course entitled " industrial polymers" by Jean-Marie RAQUEZ (8 x 2 hours); ex cathedra course entitled "gestion of chemical hazards" by Julien DE WINTER (5 x 2 hours);

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Analysis of the time evolution of thermoplastic, elastomer and thermoset industrial materials since their discorery beginning of 20th century till nowadays. The key milestones crossed-over and related scientific principles will be presented. This course will be also concentrated on the chemical hazards issued from laboratory activities, learning about chemical labelling (CLP) and means of prevention.
