Learning Outcomes of UE

Be able to correctly apply the main spelling and grammatical rules of the French language, including those that most often cause difficulties.
·  Use precise, varied vocabulary appropriate to the requirements of the academic and professional register.
·  Produce correct, clear, and unambiguous sentences, in compliance with the syntactic norms of French.
·  Organize a text in a coherent and structured way, using a clear outline, relevant paragraphs, and appropriate discourse markers, as well as being able to summarize a document by distinguishing essential information from secondary details.
·  Be able to reformulate one’s ideas and adapt them to the audience, by drawing on adequate summarizing and vocabulary skills.
·  Explain and justify the linguistic rules applied and autonomously correct recurring errors in a text.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The course offers targeted training in mastering the written and spoken norms of French. It covers essential rules of grammar, spelling, summarizing, and oral expression. Particular attention is given to the detection and correction of common errors. Vocabulary exercises also help broaden and refine both written and oral expression. Finally, the course develops strategies for planning and revising texts, as well as skills in structuring and argumentation.
 

Prior Experience

Course intended for students who need to consolidate their mastery of written and spoken French in academic and professional contexts. A very good command of written and spoken French is required (equivalent to a high school diploma).
